Website Weekend
2-days hands-on workshop to create a new website, or migrate content for an existing website to a new site design. Fee – $800 (US)

Class content is geared for entrepreneurs, small business owners, marketing managers , product managers, and website content developers who want to get a web site developed quickly and at minimal cost–with room for expansion as time and monetary budgets allow.

Instruction begins even before class is in session:
Preliminary to “Website Weekend” event, instructors will consult with each attendee so that they come to class with:
- a choice of web templates from Open Source frameworks such as WordPress, Joomla or Drupal;
- a library of web-optimized images, logos, photos, visuals and other artwork;
- a text editor application;
- a beginner’s reference guide of their choice on html/css and the Open Source framework of their choice;
- map of core commercial messages and map to targeted market segments;
- and list of sites (URLS) in comparable businesses in other locales and/or competitor sites.
Instructors will prepare a compilation of attendees’ site objectives, competitor/comparable sites, and core message maps prior to class event, with attendees agreeing to share information with class attendees in advance.

Course Outline
Day One
- Class Introduction: Attendees introduce their site objectives to fellow attendees, including business goals followed by instructor-led discussion of core message maps to market targets.
- Site navigation: consequences for messages to target markets emphases, sales funnels; keyword research and SEO; future site development
- Website design template choices: consequences for message to target market emphases, sales funnels; SEO; future site development. Each attendee will present their first, second and third choice design templates for instructor-led class discussion and feedback
- Competitive Analysis– by eye. Instructor-led discussion will examine competitor or comparable sites of two or more class attendees to cull lists of best and worst, do’s and don’ts
Day Two
- Competitive Analysis- by the numbers. Instructors select one or two company competitive landscapes for analysis with mathematical tools for mapping web landscapes to actionable intelligence on how to re-vamp navigation, message maps, and more.
- SEO Copywriting Workshop: writing for your audience; using tools to overcome personalized search algorithms to guide copywriting
- Guide to gauge site success and next steps.
